Major Traffic Enforcement Drive Across District Poonch; Over 130 Vehicles Seized/Challaned

District Police Poonch conducted a major traffic enforcement drive across the Poonch, Mendhar and Surankote Sub-Divisions, focusing on ensuring strict compliance with traffic rules and promoting road safety among commuters.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of senior police officers, with dedicated police teams deployed at various locations across the three sub-divisions. During the extensive checking, police personnel conducted thorough inspections of vehicles and took action against motorists found violating traffic regulations.
More than 130 vehicles were seized/challaned for various traffic violations, including dangerous and negligent driving, overloading, driving without valid documents, improper parking, use of vehicles in violation of prescribed norms and other offences under the Motor Vehicles Act.
The enforcement drive was aimed not merely at penalising violators but at preventing road accidents, ensuring disciplined movement of traffic and safeguarding the lives of commuters and pedestrians. Police personnel also sensitised drivers regarding adherence to speed limits, use of seat belts and helmets, carrying valid documents and avoiding dangerous driving practices.
District Police Poonch has reiterated that traffic enforcement will continue across the district, particularly against violations that endanger the lives of road users. The public has been urged to cooperate with the police and strictly follow traffic rules.
District Police Poonch appeals to all motorists to drive responsibly, follow traffic regulations and make road safety a collective responsibility.
